Invasive testing photos
Invasive testing is necessary to properly investigate the extent of the damage to your home. It includes:
- drilling holes in walls (inside and outside) to take moisture meter readings
- cutting A4-sized holes in walls (inside and outside)
- taking samples of wood or mould from inside the wall.
The following photos show some examples of invasive testing.
A cut-out inside a house showing mould growing in the walls.

Two external cut-outs (circled) in a house with monolithic cladding.
A cut-out in a weatherboard house showing a moisture meter with probe attached.
A temporary repair or 'patch' of an invasive testing site.
A cut-out on the surface of a tiled deck.

A short DVD is available which outlines what happens when an assessor inspects your property and carries out invasive testing.
