Biography of Peter Fehl – Chair of the Sector Productivity Taskforce

Peter Fehl has spent most of his working life associated with the construction industry.

The earlier years were spent working for major contractors, as well as his own company, on civil engineering and commercial construction projects, in various site and management positions.

He spent the mid to late nineties in a consulting role, engaged in project management, business and strategic planning and dispute resolution for a variety of clients. He then held senior property positions with Victoria University of Wellington (2000 - 2005) before taking up his present position of Director, Property Services, at the University of Auckland.

Peter is an arbitrator and adjudicator for construction disputes. He is a member of the arbitration and adjudication panels of the Arbitrators’ and Mediators’ Institute of New Zealand.

Peter has, for many years, been involved in the development of standard conditions of contract for Building and Civil Engineering Construction through Standards New Zealand and the Institute of Architects. He is a board member of BRANZ Ltd.
