Fees for retirement village registration
The following changes to the Retirement Villages (Fees) Regulations 2006 will come into effect on 11 August 2011:
- The annual return fee will be reduced to $400-$1,300, depending on the size of the retirement village. The new fees will better reflect the actual costs of administering the returns.
- The registration fee will become a standard one-off fee of $900 for all retirement villages, regardless of size.
- The land transfer fee will increase from $54 to $181. This will keep the fee aligned with current fees under the Land Transfer Regulations 2002.
The fees include GST. This is the first time the fees have been reviewed since registration was introduced in 2007 to provide better oversight of retirement villages.
