A snapshot of life at the Department of Building and Housing.
Working with the sector
Many staff attend industry conferences and showcases that take place throughout the year. These events are valuable opportunities for sharing information and learning how the Department can better serve the building and housing sector.

Work/life balance
Work is part of life, and so is family. The Department seeks to provide a family-friendly work environment, and support for those who need some flexibility to balance family commitments.
All work and no play …
We are committed to making the Department a great place to work. The Department sponsors sports and cultural teams that encourage staff from across the Department to get together.

National office heritage building

In May 2006 Wellington staff moved into the Department’s new national office in the heart of the city central business district – a 1925 heritage building that was comprehensively re-fitted and modernised to meet the needs of staff. |
