Builder licensing - three more meetings

5 Oct 2004: Three meetings will be held in October to outline the licensed building practitioner proposal, encourage people to make submissions and record feedback.

Thirteen meetings held throughout the country in September attracted a total audience of 767 people from the design and building industry.

Blenheim: Brancott Visitor Centre– Wednesday 13 October, 3.30-5.00pm

Rotorua: Rotorua District Council, Council Chambers– Thursday 14 October, 5.30-7.30pm

Queenstown: Copthorne Hotel and Resort– Thursday 28 October, 3.30-5.00pm

A discussion document Licensing of Building Practitioners: Discussing the Options outlines the proposed system and includes questions to help you make a submission.

It focuses on two key issues:

  • What work should be restricted to licensed people?
  • Who should be licensed?

Submissions on the proposed system opened in August and close on November 30, 2006.
