BIA Update 23 - Two-stage implementation for new timber treatment requirements 9 Mar 2004
In short, the new Acceptable Solution requires higher levels of timber treatment in parts of buildings more at risk of decay caused by leaking. Treated framing timber provides a 'second line of defence' should a building leak.
