BC Update: No.18 - Consultation: Publication of Compliance Document C Fire Safety Clauses

18 Jun 2005: The Department of Building and Housing released proposed changes to the Compliance Document for the C Fire Safety Clauses of the Building Code for public consultation in November 2004.

The proposal was to amend the Compliance Document in light of three streams of work that had been completed, these being:

• minimum fire ratings
• safety in daycare centres
• citing of three amended New Zealand Standards.

The review of this consultation and subsequent amendment of the proposal is now complete.

The Department is now seeking further comment with respect to the effective date of the amendments and any transitional arrangements.

The Department urges all interested parties to make a submission regarding the effective date of the amendments by 17 June 2005.
